Started the Spring Racing season early this year at the BMW Caulfield Cup! There was no better way to spend the beautiful sunny day in Melbourne but to be at the first racing event for Spring Carnival. It indeed felt like Spring for once! Caulfield Cup has always been enjoyable as it tends to be a bit more low key in comparison to the Melbourne Cup racing events, less crowded yet always never disappoints with the lively vibes from the horse racing, the betting and of course my favourite part – the fashion! Early on in the year, I had already been fixated on the idea of either lace or fluted sleeves for this year’s Spring Racing Carnival. I definitely came through and went for the ‘Flirt Alert Dress’ in Burgundy/Maroon from an all-time favourite boutique since my high school days – Luella. It’s a simple yet elegant off the shoulder dress with of course the fluted sleeves. The bold colour definitely worked well on the fields and hence decided to avoid over accessorising the outfit. I chose my go to Black patent Christian LouboutinPigalle and classic Salvatore Ferragamo gold chain purse. As it’s a racing tradition for ladies to be wearing head pieces or fascinators, I went for a Gold laced headband from Lovisa to match perfectly with my gold chained purse. See below for a closer look of my outfit!
My favourite part of this year’s Caulfield Cup was by far the launch of The David Jones Fashion Stable – perfectly situated with a view of the racing track! The minute you walk in, it’s all things fashion related left right and centre which was absolute heaven for me. It included the Westfield Style Stakes professional photography, make up booth, live David Jones runway shows and of course the Chandon Rose Bar. The interior was beautifully designed with many florals and rose gold décor.
Stay tuned for my post about Emirates Stakes Day!
