Hump Day Wednesday! This was definitely an impromptu dinner date with Mr P. We had both just finished work, not extremely hungry but both had a sudden craving for Japanese Food. I swear we are always going to Japanese Restaurants! Mr Miyagi was the perfect choice for small Japanese tapas and a few drinks on a warm evening in Melbourne. As usual the atmosphere, food and service was flawless. Drinks is a must to start off with. Mr P ordered the Kakubin Highball and I ordered my absolute favourite – The Hello Kitty! Definitely the go to drink when in need of something sweet, sour with a bit of alcohol!
This time we were seated at the bar, which is in fact what we tend to go for. We love seeing our food or drinks being prepared and always like to make conversations with those working behind the counter. As we weren’t that hungry, we decided to start off with the Nori Tacos which is definitely a must have at Mr Miyagi! It is literally like a mouthful of heaven. As usual at any Japanese Restaurant we go to, Tataki, Sushi and Sashimi will almost always be ordered. This time we ordered the Wagyu Beef Tataki and the Mixed Sashimi Platter that consisted of 18 pieces. Definitely the perfect portion for this ‘light’ dinner we decided to spontaneously go on. We also ordered the Black Pig Gyoza which was not your ordinary gyoza, but unfortunately didn’t take a photo of the Gyozas as they didn’t look the best on the camera! Anyways, We wanted to order the MFC (Miyagi Fried Chicken) – but the lady serving us had said what we ordered was plenty! That pretty much sums up our quick spontaneous ‘hump day’ dinner date!
If you haven’t been, It is definitely worth trying! And don’t forget to hashtag:
