Level 4, Emporium Melbourne
After a long day running through a rehearsal for “The Amazing Race” (a church event), Mr P and I were STARVING!! Mind you, this was basically running/walking around the Melbourne CBD to Parliament House and then finally to The Royal Exhibition Building. We were exhausted! Our cravings were definitely fulfilled when we decided to try out Tetsujin! Japanese is our favourite cuisine for sure! The fit out of this restaurant was definitely well thought, especially with the floor to ceiling windows allowing the natural light to shine through! I loved the fact that there was an area for the sushi train and further inside was a separate area for the Japanese BBQ and a la carte menu.
For Entrees, We ordered the “Beef Tataki” with Yuzu Sauce and the “Assorted Sashimi”. I’m pretty sure at almost every Japanese restaurant Tataki and Sashimi is something we always order! The Beef Tataki was overall really nice with great flavours to compliment each other, but Mr P and I had agreed that our favourite is still the Beef Tataki from Komeyui in Port Melbourne. Nevertheless, the one at Tetsujin was still delightful! The Sashimi we ordered was a bit small for our liking but still tasted like fresh seafood. The Assorted Sashimi consisted of just few pieces of salmon and tuna.
For Mains, from what I remember we ordered the Angus Beef Set which was about $52 but it had a special little extra portion of food that came with it (I’m sorry, I can’t remember the name!!). The Angus Beef Set consisted of Scotch Steak, Ox Tongue, Flank Beef and some sort of Side Muscle Fibre – not too sure exactly what the last one was, but I can say everything that was barbecued was yummy! To top it off, the Set came with Kimchi Tofu Hot Pot! And of course, the meal came with two sets of rice and side dishes!
Overall it was a delicious dinner with amazing service and beautiful atmosphere! We’ll definitely be back!
