Yesterday was the day I turned Twenty One! That’s right, the big 2 1! With my birthday just 5 days apart from the New Year, it always feels like a double celebration. The restaurant chosen for the usual family birthday dinner was one of my favourite seafood restaurants – The Atlantic. The ambience is beautiful as always especially with daylight savings! The natural light coming into the place, as well as the high ceilings made the dining experience much better. Normally we would go straight for the Seafood Platter for starters, but this time round we mixed it up a bit by ordering three entrees instead.
For Entrees we ordered the Salad of Crayfish Tail, Tempura Soft Shell Crab and The Atlantic Seafood Cocktail. The Salad of Crayfish Tail was definitely a favourite, light and refreshing! The Soft Shell Crab was accompanied by a delicious Ponzu sauce, slightly fried to perfection and literally melts in your mouth. The Seafood Cocktail was definitely what you would expect it to be – fresh seafood accompanied with the right amount of salad, creamy sauce with a bit of a tang and a perfectly soft boiled egg; where each ingredient complemented each other making it a great entree.
For Mains we ordered – Two of the Moreton Bay Bug Spaghetti, The Black Angus Scotch Fillet, The Black Angus Beef Tenderloin and Olive Oil Confit Ora King Salmon. Each main dish was prepared exceptionally well, always well presented and of course tasted amazing. It’s true what they say that the garnishes of a dish generally makes a huge difference.
Barely hanging but still had room for Dessert. For Dessert we decided to all share the Hazelnut Chocolate Tart and a Citrus Dessert which I can’t seem to remember the name unfortunately. The Citrus dessert was definitely a favourite though from its texture and flavours that would just explode in your mouth!
Overall, It was a really pleasant birthday dinner spent with my loved ones!
